AYC 2010 Pilipinas is the project of the Koro Filipino, which brings together the finest choir singers from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The Choir performs in Bohol on July 25 at the Assumption of Our Lady Shrine Parish in Dauis, Tagbilaran; in Dapitan on July 26 at Gloria’s Fantasyland and July 29 at the Baliangao Municipal Gym; and in Manila — on July 28 at the Philamlife Auditorium and July 29 at the Las Piñas Bamboo Organ Church.

The choir is conducted by Masashi Kishimoto from Japan and Anna Tabita Abeleda-Piquero from Philippines.

The Manila Chamber Singers (MCS) first presented Madz’ Greatest Hits in 2004 which featured the Philippine Madrigal Singers with Prof. Andrea O. Veneracion conducting.

This year, MCS presents Madz Greatest Hits II featuring the two-time World Champion of the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing and UNESCO Artists for Peace, the Philippine Madrigal Singers. This concert will feature Madz’ timeless and well-loved choral pieces and repertoire, which have brought them worldwide accolade and recognition, now under its conductor Mark Anthony A. Carpio.

UE Chorale in Tenuto

The University of the East Chorale celebrates 10 years of existence in TENUTO, a performance of all the winning pieces that have catapulted the group to world acclaim.

The concert will feature the world premiere of My Treasure by John August Pamintuan, and will culminate in performances of selected alumni of the Chorale.

This will also serve as the send-off concert as the group prepares for their North American tour this coming May. The group will be conducted by Anna Tabita Abeleda-Piquero.

Chamber Music Festival in Makati

The gala performance March 5 features a performance of Ernest Chausson’s Concerto for Piano, Violin, and String Quartet, and Robert Schumann’s Piano Trio no. 2 as part of a tribute to Robert Schumann’s Centennial Celebration. Artists are pianist Mary Anne Espina, violinist Gina Medina, and cellist Anjo Inacay, and the St. Scholasticas String Quartet.

The March 12 concert features guitarist Ruben Reyes and collaborating piano, double bass and percussion players, in works by diverse composers including Alexandre Tansman and Claude Bolling.

On March 19, the festival features chamber performances of opera excerpts by Mozart, Offenbach, Verdi, Bellini, to be performed by soprano Camille Lopez Molina, soprano Jennifer Uy, tenor Randy Gilongo and bass-baritone Noel Azcona with pianist Peter Porticos.

For the festival-ender on March 27, singing actress Nenen Espina and guest artists present melodies from the American Songbook, including works by Jerome Kern and Richard Rodgers.

This year marks the 35th Anniversary of the Las Piñas Bamboo Organ Festival.

The Gala Concert features JS Bach’s Cantata no. 130 and John Rutter’s Mass of the Children , in performances by Swiss organist Guy Bovet, Filipino organist Alejandro Consolacion II, the Las Piñas Boys Choir, and the UP Singing Ambassadors . Other artists are soprano Karina Gay Balajadia-Liggayu, counter-tenor Mark Carpio, tenor Ervin Notes Lumauag, bass Noel Azcona and the Festival Orchestra under the baton of Eudenice Palarauan.

February 19 is dedicated exclusively to organ music with Guy Bovet.

The popular Concert under the Trees is slated for the following evening, and will feature the Singing Priests, the Morrizwind Orchestra and a surprise guest artist from the world of pop.

Czech organist Jarek Malanowicz and Filipino trumpeter Robert de Pano collaborate for an evening of baroque music, February 21.

The February 23 concert Saring Lahi pays tribute to Filipino music with works by National Artist Lucio San Pedro and Alejandro Consolacion II . Organists Armando Salarza and Rea Jimenez, the Las Piñas Boys Choir and soloist Bernard Caro, baritone Noel Azcona, tenor Ervin Notes Lumauag, and the Festival Orchestra under Eudenice Palaruan will the performers for this event. Also part of the program are the Kasilag Guitar Trio .

The Festival ends with a repeat of the Gala Concert on February 24.
