Program includes the “Kreutzer Sonata”, Cello Sonata No. 3 and the “Archduke” Trio by Beethoven.

Denise Huang and Renato Lucas are both principal artists of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and have distinguished themselves as soloists.

MCOF Oktoberfest: An Evening of French Music

An Evening of French Chamber Music

This concert takes listeners back to fin-de-siecle France. On the program are violin sonatas by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Camille Saint-Saens.

Gina Medina finished her Master’s degree in music with Chamber Music Emphasis at the San Francisco State University under full scholarship. Gina started formal violin lessons with Prof. Luis Valencia and graduated Summa cum Laude at the St. Scholastica’s College of Music under Basilio Manalo. Upon graduation she was awarded a scholarship by the French government which allowed her to participate in several music festivals in France, and to study with Olivier Charlier, Dong Suk Kang, Philippe Bride and the Amadeus Quartet. She is currently concertmaster of the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

Mary Ann Espina has performed with many prominent foreign artists visiting in Manila including violinist Hagai Shaham, Alexander Tomescu and Kaori Sato. She won the ALIW Award for Best Instrumentalist last year.
