UCM Chancel Choir with guest choirs, other artists

Union Church of Manila in cooperation with the British Council of Manila presents the Magnificat by of John Rutter.

Performing are the Choirs of Union Church of Manila, Asian Seminary for Christian Ministries, New Covenant Singers, Central United Methodist Church, Marikina United Methodist Church, and United Evangelical Church of the Philippines under the baton of Eudenice Palaruan.

They will be joined by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra under Rodel Colmenar.

Soloists are Alejandro Consolacion II (organ), Jane Banta (harp), and Aileen Cura(soprano).

Other featured artists are Himig Singhaya conducted by Mary Katherine Trangco, and students of the U. P. College of Music.

In the second half are Christmas carols from many nations.

Pipe organ gala at the Manila Cathedral

The Manila Cathedral-Basilica of Intramuros commemorates the 50th year of its pre-war reconstruction, and the inauguration in 1958 of its Pipe Organ.

Highlight of the 3rd Manila Cathedral and Basilica Pipe Organ Festival is the Gala Concert to be held on December 10 at 730PM featuring the Austrian organist Dr. Johann Trummer, in works by J.S.Bach, Lemmens, Wolfgang Oehms, Schubiger and Lefébure-Wély.

The concert will also feature the Las Piñas Boys Choir, which recently captured the first place in the Children’s Choirs category during the 5th World Choir Games held in Graz (Austria), under the guidance of Prof. Armando Salarza.

The choir will perform international Christmas carols, accompanied at the organ by Alejandro Consolacion II.

Now on its 13th year, Philamlife Christmas Treats is a nightly serenading and gift-giving treat for the under privileged children in Metro Manila.

Children under the care of SOS Children’s Village, UST Parish Church, and the Dominican (Brothers) Studentate will be serenaded by the country’s top choral groups—the UP Madrigal Singers with the Kilyawan Boys’ Choir (December 8), Philippine Normal University Chorale (December 9), UP Singing Ambassadors (December 10), UE Chorale (December 11), and the UP Concert Chorus (December 12).

Philamlife Christmas Treats will be held at the lobby of the Philamlife Building, on UN Avenue, Manila.

The nightly concerts are also free and open to the public.

The “Come to the Stable Concerts”, mounted by Martin Lopez, raise awareness and funds for charitable organizations that serve, primarily, special children. Beneficiary of this year’s concert is the White Cross Orphanage; a portion of the funds will support the childrens’ training in music and dance.
