FROM YOU, OUR LISTENERS

MARCH 2010

Thank you for continuously inspiring youth like us to appreciate classical music, and what’s more, thank you for the spiritual food... I am at peace every time I listen to your station. I would just like to ask if you can please have a link in your website that lets us listen to your music too. I am at the office and would love to have you as company everyday while I go about my work. Unfortunately, I don’t have a radio or a mobile phone with a radio. Again, thank you for enriching our lives and I hope to get feedback from you regarding my request. More power and God bless you all! — Female

I would just like to thank you for your music and your programs as they serve as my daily guide and stress buster. I listen to your programs in my car when I drive to work. Your programs, particularly the morning talks like Business Matters and Redeeming the Time are my favorites. They don’t just provide good guiding principles for life, but they also share applicable practices of these principles. Again thank you. — Male

I’ve been a faithful listener hooked on to DZFE since I first heard it on air when we were still living in Cebu in the late ‘80s. DZFE has come a long way since then, overcoming great obstacles. Kudos to your wonderful staff working closely with God’s grace and guidance. — Female

Just want you to know that programming has never, ever, been this good! ....the John Williams and final Cello piece on [The Good Measure] today.... many more that I didn’t write down on time... Tell David Jerome Johnson that I really appreciate the effort he’s putting into ‘personalizing’ his show. You can ‘hear’ his enthusiasm; how he has ‘crafted’ the show… And Bravo Filipino! I always look forward to Bert’s opening spiel!... White Horse Inn is also a must hear and The Good Measure Sunday Edition is terrific! I’m so grateful for the rebroadcasts because they allow me to catch Night Lights and the other shows that I’ve missed. Oh yes, before I forget, I always look forward to the World Vision Report! Such a compact show but one that takes you thousands of kilometers all over the world... Before I get carried away....Congratulations! Now it can be told....DZFE is THE Compleat Station! — Male

FEBRUARY 2010

Some of our local songwriters with minimal compositional technique could do away with their pop musical prowess and try… to align themselves with the masters… Bartok, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Mahler, Stravinsky, et al. DZFE has done a lot to unmask the masquerade in our music cultural scene… — Male

I’m not exactly a lover of classical music, but thanks to your daily broadcasts, I’m starting to appreciate it. I also love listening to the Sound of Majesty late at night. — Female

JANUARY 2010

I heard that you will be on the air even on Sunday. My 10-year-old grandson would be glad because we have the same favorite radio station.Female

I have been listening to you since college. I am 55 now, and not only enjoy the music, but also the food for thought. God has answered my questions through them. Thanks a lot! — Female

My day is always accompanied by the music and inspiring words of DZFE. Am glad you now have Sundays! For me everything is perfect. ___________________________________________________________

I’ve been listening to your station since I was five years old. I’m now turning 27 this year. I just feel relaxed rejuvenated and calm when I listen to your station. [One segment] I like is where you play old Filipino songs, Kundiman or Harana; I was part of my school choir before so I appreciate these types of songs.

I don’t know if you have a lot of listeners since the majority of Filipinos prefer rock pop, rap and R&B, but you have my undying support. Your music is very distinct and I hope you continue delivering it. I also hope that in spite of DZFE being a non-stock, non-profit organization, the station will produce sufficient funds to improve its signal. Thanks for such a wonderful station. —

I’m so happy and glad to know that there is an FM station that plays classical music. In Cebu, there is a station that plays it, but only for a limited time. I have been an avid classical music fan since I was in fourth year college, after listening to a CD with Bach, and attending a classical music concert. I hope I can attend more someday. Just this morning, I was listening to your station and was able to listen to a narration… the message was beautiful. — Male

DECEMBER 2010

And [The Good Measure] has been the showcase for some mind blowing music. And of course, my ‘must hears’: Nightlights, Classical Guitar Alive, Berni, Ravi..... I love that “Walking in the light” spoken word piece with the multiple recorders in the background [Christmas Spots].

I’ve come to be very dependent on your Station for my well being and like a good friend I will miss it, even if it will only be 20+ long days [while I am out of the country]. Thank you very much for your dedication and hard work in ensuring that every day of the calendar year is a masterful broadcast day with always something for the listener to ‘take home’. Your service has been a gift of extreme value, and when you come to think of it is an intangible gift: the gift of ‘air’ filled with meaning. Your program management of DZFE is very much like ‘Performance Art’.

I have been a long time listener, but it is only now that I have made time to send you this note. I would lie you to know how your station has helped me to spend the Advent season in a quiet, reflective and prayerful way. God bless your work and all of you who labor in this special vineyard of the Lord! — Female

NOVEMBER 2009

I heard somewhere that classical music is supposed to be soothing… I was hoping it would help me get through traffic and avoid road rage… But the readings/reflections/ inspirational messages in between are what feed my mind and soul.  I also enjoy Bravo Filipino (since I myself joined a chorale around six months ago). It is also interesting to learn the history of different musical geniuses through the years.

OCTOBER 2009

I want to express my appreciation for your station and the music and message you share… ever since my predicament of an estranged relationship with my husband, I have found consolation, refuge and strength by literall clinging to the LORD. Your station has provided a very crucial vessel for my keeping attuned to our Creator, both in message and in music… It has kept me constantly connected to God, like a security blanket wrapped around me 24/7. For that, I thank you and I remain a loyal listener to this very day.
