ARCHIVED MESSAGES
SEPTEMBER 2009
I love listening to your station ever since I was in high school and that was way back in 1999. I was sad when I heard about your closing, but thank goodness it didn't happen. Your station and music inspired me to learn to play the violin, although I am not practicing it now. I am still eager to learn classical music and you're giving me every desire to pursue it; that I would like to thank you so much! — Female, 20s

It's been years since I've tuned in to your station again and it's soothing to chance upon your program Bravo Filipino. For a long time I craved to hear Filipino music, especially the classic kundimans by Lucio San Pedro and the others who have given this race its long-sought musical golden age. — Male

My name is […] and we’ve been listening to your radio station for almost 11 years now. You see, my mom had a stroke in 1998. She experienced brain damage and one of the side effects was loss of common knowledge, like days of the week and a sense of time. My mom has not fully recovered. Her hands remain stiff, her eyes legally blind, her intelligence close to a child’s.
As part of her recovery, we keep her tuned in to your radio station. We use it to educate her of cultural and current events. And your spiritual programs become part of her daily bread as a Christian. Aside from the classical music you play, she appreciates listening to Francis Kong’s “Business Matters”, Bible insights from John MacArthur, “Creation Moments”, Bravo Filipino, and even the DW international news. It helped my mom regain part of life that she lost. We truly apreciate your station and the efforts you do to improve it. — Male

I’m an avid listener of your station. Perhaps avid isn’t even the proper term, as it’s the only station I listen to every time I’m on the road. I first learned about DZFE around 2000 when I was browsing through the different FM stations. Back then I was still lsitening to other pop stations. Today, however, DZFE is all I listen to. I love all the classical music you play, especially those of Joseph Haydn. So too with the classical guitar program [Classical Guitar Alive!]. I also love the programs in which the host shares the historical background of both the artist and the music. And since I get home late, I get to listen to Sound of Majesty. Just Wow. I’d certainly be remiss if I didn’t mention the regular Bible readings that guide me and assure me that things are always going to be okay. — Male

Hi! I’m Pastor […]. I’m listening to your station right now and I’m so happy that you are holding to the old fashioned and traditional way of music and proclaiming the Lord’s salvation. I thought you only played classical music, but found out today that it’s more than music that you proclam. God bless! — Male

I just arrived here in Manila last April 2009. Before I turned on my radio, I said to myself, let there be Christian music on the air. I did not know it was DZFE I was listening to! I love it and it made my day. I so adore classical masterpieces. Ever since, I always tune it through my mobile whether at work or at school. The music and most especially the teachings are enriching me — making me stronger against temptation. [They help me] deal with other people. Even as I read my Bible I listen to your great selections of classical music compositions. It doesn’t distract, but keeps me going and inspired. Thank you so much! Keep playing for Jesus! — Female

Throughout the day, the echoes of the orchestra continue to buzz in my ears, even at school. I am a huge fan of classical, baroque and impressionistic music, particularly for the piano. You not only give listeners the best times of their lives, you especially enrich me as a student. I want you to know that 15-year-old guys like me appreciate this kind of music a lot. — Male, student

I am a German retiree, living in Calauan, Laguna. Bravo
Filipino is one of my DZFE favorites and I listen to it
regularly. Last week, I was guest at the birthday party of a
friend. He hired a group of elderly musicians who, to my
great pleasure, also played Filipino folksongs and kundimans
with great gusto and in very artistic arrangements. — Male

I want to say thank you for being “different’ from any other
radio station. You guys are playing the real music that, I
must admit, I didn’t use to appreciate. But you made me
realize that this type of music really rocks… I always
listen to your station every night; it became part of my
nightly routine… It carries me, not in the way punk and emo
music does (I’m a big fan of those types of music). I really
thank you for that. Through your music, I got to have an
interest in Mozart, Beethoven and Rachmaninov… — Female, student

You and
everyone at DZFE are truly a blessing in spreading the
“Master’s Touch” on air. I have been an avid listener of the
station since I first discovered DFZE… back in the 1980s…
Since 1991, I have followed the station’s challenging
struggles to stay on air, missing it terribly when there are
no broadcasts. I contributed a little of what I could afford
and wished I could do more, and have been praying for the
station to bounce back. Now my prayers are answered… The
station is on 6 days a week. I thoroughly enjoyed this
Easter Sunday’s program. May this augur regular Sundays on
air.
Please congratulate everyone at DZFE, particularly Tiffany
and David. I heard them way back when they started, and they
have really polished their craft… I am looking forward to
more recognition for the wonderful Spirit willed work [at
DZFE]. — Female, 63 years old

I’d like to congratulate your station for its new and more
powerful transmitter, which now enables its listeners to
better receive and hear wonderful classical music, and most
especially God’s Word, over the radio waves! Your station is
truly the “Master’s Touch”!
I’ve been a long-time listener of your radio station and I
continue to enjoy the magnificent pieces by various
classical geniuses. I pray that you continue to receive
funding to further improve your station’s transmitter
equipment facilities. You are all doing a great job!
I’m glad that I’m able to listen to DZFE even when I’m in
Anilao, Mabini in Batangas, where I often go to dive.
Listening to classical music and the Word of God by the sea
is such a fantastic experience… spiritually uplifting!

I have been
missing your broadcast for about two months now. I can’t
hear you at 1 kilowatt! I live here in Laguna. It’s hard to
get your signal here, but I set up an antenna on the roof of
my house. My friends and neighbors come over so we can
listen to your broadcast. In the morning, I usually go out
to take my tea on the patio, and read. I have speakers
there, and I turn up the music so my next door neighbor, my
landlady, can also listen to the music while she gardens. We
are all missing you!

At home in England, my
favorite station is BBC Radio 3, which is renowned for the
quality of its classical music schedule. When my wife and I
retired and started to spend much more time in her native
Philippines, as we had planned throughout our 30 years of
our wonderful marriage, the one thing I missed was classical
music on the radio. I so enjoy living here in the south of
Taguig, overlooking Laguna de Bay, but I doubted that I
would ever find a radio station that would match the one I
listened to in England. Then, by pure chance, I tuned in to
DZFE. Now you give me hours of pleasure and inspiration.
Thank you so much!

I am a
regular listener and am usually tuned in between 630AM to
around 815AM, on my way to the office. Please allow me to
commend and give credit to David, your morning DJ, for his
very good choices of baroque selections. I really like the
type of classical music he plays on air, particularly the
baroque. He’s a learned classical enthusiast and surely
knows his music! One thing I like about his style is his
untiring explanation (and providing background) on the type
of music, the artists, the composer’s, the musical
instrument/s used, and the era when the music was composed
(and popularized).
I’d also like to give your station recognition for using a
Christian values platform for your programs. DZFE is
definitely rare, a true Christian station and in a class of
its own!

DECEMBER 2008
Just want to
commend the programmers on choosing to air the Olivier
Messiaen! This is truly mind blowing music! Genius, he
definitely is (or was)!
… That this music is being aired at all is truly amazing…
and the fact that it was heard in the afternoon is even more
amazing. Imagine if a well known contemporary visiting
classical conductor or composer or performing artist had a
stopover in Manila and just happened to be ‘trawling’ the
airwaves and happened upon DZFE (hopefully in a hotel limo),
he/she’d say...”Man, these Filipinos are heavy !”. And
they’ve got great taste!
Anyway, being a donor supported, non commercial station
really has it’s upside, too. No advertisers to tell you what
to do. I wish I could do more to support the station and
I’ll try my best this coming new year. DZFE has truly become
the ‘soundtrack’ of my daily life but has become more than
just about music.
More power (bad pun not intended) to all of you! You may not
know it but you are also ‘transfusing’ a sort of good blood
into the airwaves by ‘soldiering on’. Ok, enuff said! Bravo!

It’s refreshing to tune in to your station. Please keep it

Oh, I wanted to know if you still have your story-telling of

I have
been a DZFE listener since 1980 when I was in college. Over
the years, Mozart and Brahms became my steady companions
during the morning and evening commutes.
I don’t
mind the religious/ spiritual content at all. Listening to
the talks made me appreciate my Catholic faith all the more,
and discover how much about God and Jesus I share with
non-Catholics. Besides, when God is your main benefactor,

marvelous composers and performers, and he contnues to bless
us with more time to play great music. God and the classics
go together. Congratulations! —

Thank you for staying on air longer. Your music became 'my
music' after accidentally turning the dial into your

music. Thank you most importantly for keeping my soul so
alive and nourished.
I used to
just close the radio at 12pm after you sign off and open

other programs, it's non stop. I grew loving Filipino
classics too when at first I thought there were none.
It's
inspiring to listen to your station now that hard situations

seems to have a good psychological effect. I try to tell

inspiring verses and talks about the Holy Bible which is
