Dear
Friends,
We never cease praising God for the richness of the work to
which He has called us. Henry Blackaby famously wrote in his
study Experiencing God, that God is at work all
around us, and has been at work in the world, from the
beginning of time. God is certainly at work in the
humanities and the arts, and even a cursory online survey of
current developments at the intersection of Christianity and
the arts, or theology and art, reveals burgeoning activity
in this field, all over the world.
“So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son
can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the
Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son
does likewise.’”
John
5:19
Nonetheless, this field is still a battlefield, and the
battle that much more treacherous for being waged in the
incorporeal dimension of words and music, imagination and
ideas.
Truly, we
do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Your prayers help
much more than we can say.
