The program explores themes of majesty and triumph with a performance of Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 “Haffner,” Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 in C “Great”.
Featured trumpet soloist Manu Mallearts is based in Brussels, Belgium. He is the artistic director of the Belgian Brass and solo trumpet player of La Monnaie Opera House. He has also served as guest coach for the distinguished Asian Youth Orchestra of which several MSO musicians have been members.
