Journey out in music this Easter weekend

Posted on Mar 31, 2021

Quarantine or no quarantine, the Holy Week and Easter weekend on DZFE will expand your musical horizons.

Join us as we set off on our annual marathon request program HOMESPUN, catering to large-scale requests (Maundy Thursday 1000-1200 & 1230-2000, Good Friday 1000-2000, Black Saturday 800-1100). Our team of presenters and writers—David, Daniel, Julia, Dawn and Tiffany—take you through this year’s seven-part program, covering symphonies by Beethoven and Mahler, Joseph Haydn’s oratorio The Creation, the modern-day Passion of Yeshua by Richard Danielpour, Albeniz’s scenic Iberia and much more.

Early risers can join us for the special sacred music program for Good Friday from SING FOR JOY (Fri 700). MILLENNIUM OF MUSIC (Fri 750) features Suzi Digby, director of the Ora Singers, in music for Passiontide and Easter.

On MAESTRO FILIPINO this Black Saturday (Sat 1600), guitarist and composer Jerry Dadap, Jr shares beautifully crafted arrangements of hymns, which he calls “the loftiest form of prayer”.

We mark Resurrection Sunday with our EASTER PROGRAM with David (930-1130, further airing Monday 2000-2200) featuring Felix Mendelsson’s oratorio, Paulus (St. Paul).

Playlists become available on our website as usual, after each third of the broadcast day. Tune in for a meaningful Easter weekend!
