Emerging international conductor Darrell Ang performs with the Manila Symphony Orchestra in MCO Foundation’s Mostly Mozart Festival 2014. The evening will feature Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, K. 488 with pianist Cristine Coyiuto, the Mozart arias “Misero! O sogno!” and “Se vuoi che te raccolgano” with tenor Arthur Espiritu, and Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony.

Singaporean-born conductor Darrell Ang studied orchestral conducting at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, where he finished with Summa Cum Laude honors. He received further training at Yale University and won prizes from the International Besançon Competition for Young Conductors, the Toscanini International Competition, and the Antonio Pedrotti International Competition. Ang is currently the musical director of the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne; he has also performed with ensembles such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, and Wiener Kammerorchester.

Pianist Cristine Coyiuto pursued graduate studies in music at the Juilliard School. She has given recitals and collaborative performances in France, Switzerland, the UK, Canada, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Filipino Tenor Arthur Espiritu has sung internationally in many major opera houses, including the Teatro alla Scala, Theatre des Champs Elysees, Paris Opera, and the Oper Leipzig. He has maintained a steady performing career in North American and Europe.
