Opera Future!

Appropriately, OPERAPHILE (Sat 1900, Fri 000) draws its run on DZFE to a close with the series, “Opera’s Future — Favored or Fatal?” Beginning June 4, host Joanna Go strives to peer into the future, featuring four very recent operas — John Harbison’s The Great Gatsby, written in 1999, Tan Dun’s The Last Emperor of 2006, Jeremy Sams’ The Enchanted Island of 2011, and George Benjamin’s Written on Skin of 2012.
