The Story of God’s People

Posted on Dec 28, 2015

In January, WHITE HORSE INN (Sun 800, Tue 1430) begins a series entitled The Story of God’s People, which takes a look at the pivotal figures and moments of redemptive history and points out the themes that develop throughout the Scripture and are ultimately resolved in Jesus Christ. It all begins in the book of Genesis, where the themes of creation, fall and redemption are introduced. Man is created from the dust, and after the fall is cursed with death and returns to dust; but further along in Scripture, we discover that the Messiah himself was called to be “laid in the dust of death” so that we could be raised to eternal life. We meet the man of faith, Abraham, whose story refuses to be categorized as a morality tale; instead, his life displays the promises of God which will much later be fulfilled in Christ.
