It was a contentious and fascinating period in England’s history, with a cast of unforgettable figures. Not to be forgotten are its women. OPERAPHILE (Sat 1900, Fri 000) makes “Tudor Women” the focus of its current series, with three of the operas highlighting the most unforgettable Tudor woman of all, Elizabeth I. The operas are Gioachino Rossini’s Elisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra, Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, Thomas’ Le songe d’une nuit d’été, and Britten’s Gloriana.
