The San Francisco Symphony inaugurates a new season of radio broadcasts! Heard over DZFE through our partnership with the WFMT Network in Chicago, the SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY BROADCASTS (Wed 1300) will run for thirteen weeks from September 05.
Kicking off the series are Yuja Wang Mark Inouye in Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C minor, with Michael Tilson Thomas at the podium. Other soloists making their appearance are Steven Braunstein (contrabassoon), Alexander Barantschik (violin), Cameron Carpenter (organ), Jonathan Vinocour (viola), Emanuel Ax (piano), Julia Fischer (violin), Yefim Bronfman (piano), Gil Shaham (violin), and Christian Tetzlaff (violin). Also featured are the premieres of several works, including Michael Tilson Thomas’ Urban Legend, H. Brant’s Ice Field, and Mark Volkert’s Pandora.
